Jost Capito

I have a soft spot for the people who run the show from behind it, and Jost Capito fits that mold perfectly. He started as a racer, even on motorcycles, then sharpened his mind at the Technical University of Munich before leading Volkswagen's motorsport program. When someone who has actually held the wheel moves into management, their decisions carry a credibility that pure executives never quite earn. He knows the cost of speed firsthand, and that, I suspect, is why crews follow him. Leaders who understand the pain of the track before commanding it always win my trust.
