Kate Micucci

Kate Micucci is the kind of performer I always end up recognizing by her voice before her face. Born in New Jersey in 1980, she's a comedian, voice actor, and musician who's half of the comedy-music duo Garfunkel and Oates with Riki Lindhome. Her on-camera roles in Scrubs, Raising Hope, and The Big Bang Theory are fun, but it's the voice work that sticks with me: Sadie in Steven Universe, Velma in Scooby-Doo, Webby in DuckTales. What I appreciate is how distinctive that slightly fragile, sincere delivery is, equally at home in a sweet song or a deadpan punchline. A genuinely versatile, underrated talent.
