Katy Mixon

Katy Mixon is the kind of actor I trust to make a scene better without stealing it. A Carnegie Mellon-trained performer from Pensacola, she earned her stripes opposite heavy hitters, holding her own in Eastbound & Down and anchoring years of Mike & Molly beside Melissa McCarthy. What I admire is her comic patience: her warmth and her instinct for timing make her a dependable backbone for an ensemble. Leading-role glamour gets the attention, but performers who can support and elevate a whole show are quietly indispensable, and she's exactly that.
