My Take
Kenny Anderson fascinates me as a study in early hype and durability. Coming out of Queens and lighting up Georgia Tech as a freshman, he was anointed almost before he could grow up, winning National Freshman of the Year. What I respect is that he didn't flame out under that weight; he carved out a long professional career as a point guard from 1991 onward. At a fairly ordinary height for the position, he survived on vision and quickness rather than physical gifts. Now passing knowledge to younger players as a coach, he embodies the unglamorous craft of basketball longevity.
