My Take
Keri Russell is one of those actors who keeps proving people wrong in the best possible way. A lot of folks my age first knew her as Felicity — the girl who cut her hair and broke the internet before "breaking the internet" was even a thing — but she's so much more than that. What really won me over was watching her in The Americans, where she plays a Soviet spy embedded in suburban D.C. with such coiled, unsettling intensity that you forget she was ever the warm college girl with the curls. She started out as a dancer, and you can feel it in the way she carries herself on screen — there's a physical precision to her that most actors just don't have. Eight Critics' Choice nominations for drama and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame don't lie: she's the real deal, and criminally underrated.
