My Take
What moves me about Khaled Hosseini is the leap from medicine to fiction. A trained physician from Kabul, he chose storytelling as his real act of healing, and The Kite Runner proved how completely that gamble paid off. I admire that every book stays rooted in Afghanistan, refusing to let the country become only a headline. His novels deal in guilt, redemption, and the messy weight of family rather than easy sentiment, and his work as a UNHCR goodwill ambassador shows he treats writing as responsibility, not vanity. He is, to me, a writer who never stopped being a caretaker.
