Kirron Kher

Kirron Kher fascinates me as a woman who refused to stay in one lane. Stage-trained and good enough to win the National Film Award for Best Actress in 2000, she then walked straight into politics, serving as a Member of Parliament from Chandigarh from 2014 to 2024. That leap from artistic summit to the rough arena of public office takes nerve and conviction I genuinely admire. A Bengaluru native and Panjab University graduate, she carries a warm, maternal authority on screen that has made her one of Hindi cinema's most beloved figures. I find her whole arc quietly inspiring.
