Lanny Poffo

Lanny Poffo deserves more credit than the shadow of his brother often allowed. As the high-flying "Leaping" Lanny and later the literate, poem-reciting "Genius," he proved wrestling could be theater of the mind as much as the body. What I find genuinely endearing is his post-ring life as a motivational speaker and poet, turning performance into something gentler and more reflective. A second-generation talent who carved his own lane rather than chasing his sibling's spotlight, he passed in 2023, but I think his playful intelligence is exactly what made him memorable to me.
