Lapo Elkann

Lapo Elkann interests me as someone who could have coasted on a famous name and instead made restlessness his brand. Born in New York into the Fiat and Ferrari world, he turned cars and objects into canvases through Italia Independent and Garage Italia Customs. People file him under socialite, but I see a genuine obsession with personalization, refusing anything off the shelf and insisting on his own color. I admire that he converted privilege into actual making rather than mere appearance. The flamboyance is real, yet under it sits a serious love of design, and that combination is more compelling than it first looks.
