Lars Lukas Mai

Lars Lukas Mai is the kind of young player I find easy to root for. A Dresden-born centre-back from 2000, he came through Germany's youth system and Bayern's pipeline, then moved abroad to Lugano in the Swiss Super League to actually play. That last part matters: at a giant like Bayern, gifted young defenders so often stall, buried beneath the depth chart. Choosing to go elsewhere and earn real minutes is a decision I respect. Centre-backs rarely get glory; their job is to anchor everything quietly. I will be keeping a quiet eye on how far his game grows from here.
