Laura Muir

What draws me to Laura Muir is the quiet, almost stubborn discipline behind her career. Going from a childhood in Milnathort to Olympic 1500m silver in Tokyo is no small thing, especially in the middle distances, where pure speed and brutal endurance both have to coexist. I have always admired that she pursued veterinary studies alongside elite running rather than treating sport as her only identity. To me that signals a grounded, self-possessed athlete who races on intelligence as much as legs. I find her more compelling than flashier sprinters precisely because her strength is so understated and durable.
