My Take
Lauren Holiday is the kind of athlete I find impossible not to admire. Two Olympic golds, a World Cup title, plus an NWSL Golden Boot and MVP in a single season is a resume most players would chase a whole career for, yet she compressed it into a brief, blazing run and walked away on top in 2015. A midfielder who could also play forward, she had range that the stat sheet barely captures. What moves me most is the clean exit; leaving at your peak takes more courage than hanging on, and she had it.
