Li Qin

Li Qin strikes me as one of Chinese drama's most graceful, dependable talents. Trained in the traditional art of Kunqu opera in Kunshan, she carries a poise and physical discipline that many screen actors lack. From her early Dream of Red Mansions role through Princess Agents, Joy of Life, The Song of Glory and War of Faith, she shifts easily between period and modern roles. What I value is her restraint: she lights a character from within rather than chasing spectacle. Rather than courting headlines, she builds a body of work one careful performance at a time, and that craftsmanship is why her appeal lasts.
