My Take
Schreiber strikes me as the consummate actor's actor — a Tony winner with serious stage credentials who also writes, directs, and does voice work, yet never seems hungry for the spotlight itself. What elevates him in my eyes are the two Orders of Merit from Ukraine: proof that his connection to his roots is action, not branding. There is a gravelly intelligence in everything he does, likely sharpened at Hampshire College, that makes even his supporting turns feel load-bearing. He is the rare performer whose presence raises the credibility of an entire production, and I trust him completely on screen.
