My Take
What strikes me most about Franchetti is not just the list of firsts attached to her name, but the quiet persistence those firsts imply. Becoming the first woman to lead the U.S. Navy and to sit on the Joint Chiefs is not luck, it is decades of relentless competence in a culture not built to welcome her. I find her career genuinely inspiring precisely because she let the work speak. Even her abrupt removal cannot erase the doors she pried open. To me she reads as the kind of leader history quietly thanks long after the headlines fade.
