Ludwig Göransson

Ludwig Göransson is the composer I point to when people claim film scoring has run out of ideas. His range genuinely startles me—conservatory rigor from Stockholm fused with a producer's ear for rhythm and texture, equally at home building orchestral dread or chart-topping hooks. Two Academy Awards before his mid-forties would flatter anyone, but what impresses me more is that each project sounds like a fresh invention rather than a house style. He treats sound design, production, and composition as one discipline, which I believe is where the art form is heading. Among working composers, he is the one whose next move I most want to hear.
