My Take
Mafia Kajita is one of those figures whose CV reads like a joke until you check it twice. Born in Shanghai in 1987 under the name Ryuki Kajita, he built his name as a writer and radio personality for 4Gamer, the Japanese gaming news site — and then just kept going, adding voice acting, on-screen acting, and board game design to the pile. What I find genuinely interesting is the direction of travel. Most people who love games become critics, or developers, or performers, and stay there. Kajita seems to have refused to pick. He writes about games, talks about them on air, lends his voice to them, and designs them himself. The stage name is pure showmanship, but the career underneath it is that of a specialist who kept widening the specialty. He grew up in Nabari, Mie, stands 192 cm, and runs the company Boss Rush with the manga artist Bkub Okawa, so the public persona has real business behind it.
