My Take
I'll be honest, Makoto Hiejima is the kind of player I quietly root for. What gets me isn't flashy dunks or highlight-reel theatrics; it's that sudden change of pace, the way he gets the ball and just slips past his man with this clean, surgical first step. Folks talk about his clutch gear like he's a different guy when the game's on the line, and I love that quiet-assassin energy. He was MVP of the 2021–22 B.League Championship, the kind of player who flips a switch and turns ice-cold under pressure. That contrast is exactly what makes him so easy to fall for.
