My Take
What draws me to Veasey is the trajectory: a journalist before a legislator, someone who studied how power is communicated before wielding it. Born in Fort Worth in 1971, educated locally, and serving Texas's 33rd district since 2013, he is the rare politician whose roots and constituency align tightly. I have a soft spot for representatives who rose from their own community rather than parachuting in, and his steady climb from the state house to Congress reads as earned. That grounded, hometown authenticity is, to me, the most underrated quality in modern American politics.
