My Take
Marcelo Bielsa, nicknamed El Loco, the Madman, is a figure I hold in deep respect precisely because of that nickname. A defender in his playing days from Rosario, Argentina, his real legend is as a coach whose obsessive, all-consuming tactical philosophy reshaped the modern game. He revived Leeds United and now leads Uruguay, and his standing as one of the most influential managers ever is no exaggeration; giants like Guardiola openly credit him. What moves me is his madness in the service of the game itself, valuing the beauty of football over mere results. I cannot help loving such a single-minded romantic.
