My Take

Margaret Qualley is one of those actors I could watch with the sound off just to see how she moves. Her dance training shows in every frame; she communicates with posture and gesture in a way most of her peers simply cannot. I also admire how deliberately she has built her career: born in small-town Montana and trained in New York, she could have coasted on modeling work but kept choosing odd, demanding roles instead. She strikes me as a performer more interested in being interesting than in being liked, and in the long run that is exactly the kind of actress who lasts.
