My Take
I'll be honest, the thing that gets me about Yuki Kimura is how she refuses to be just one thing. Born in 1996 in Yokohama's Konan ward, she's squarely a millennial of the social-media generation, and she's basically wearing every hat there is: fashion model, gravure, all-purpose talent, even dipping into YouTube. At 157cm she was never going to bulldoze a runway on stature alone, so what I read in her is adaptability, that knack for fitting into whatever frame you put her in without looking forced. Her path has had a rough patch too: in 2021 she apologized after it was reported that an acquaintance had been arrested for cocaine at her home in 2019. I don't know exactly where she lands next, but the versatility makes me genuinely curious to keep watching.
