My Take

Mario Cantone's range is what keeps surprising me. Comedian, actor, singer, and TV host, he refuses to stay in one lane. To most he's Anthony in Sex and the City, and that fast-talking, sharp-tongued energy lights up every scene he enters. Being asked back for the revival says plenty about how beloved that presence is. I think his quick-fire comic timing comes from years of real stagecraft, sharpened after Emerson College. There's a particular kind of performer who can hijack a room in a single line, and Cantone is squarely that type. I find his style genuinely irresistible to watch.
