My Take
Marisa Pavan deserves to be remembered for more than being Pier Angeli's twin. Born in Cagliari, Sardinia, she carved out her own career across Italian, French, and Hollywood cinema, crowned by a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination for 1955's The Rose Tattoo. I'm drawn to performers from that golden age who refused to be defined by a sibling's fame, and Pavan's quiet persistence is exactly that story. Living to 91 and passing in late 2023, she was a living link to a vanished era of screen glamour.
