My Take
What strikes me about Mark Amodei is the unglamorous, ground-up nature of his career. From practicing law to the Nevada Assembly, the state Senate, and finally Congress since 2011, he climbed each rung methodically rather than vaulting in on celebrity. I tend to trust politicians built this way, the ones who chaired their state party and learned the unglamorous machinery before holding national office. Representing a sprawling district demands patience over showmanship, and with his February 2026 decision not to seek re-election that long run is closing, and I read Amodei as a workhorse rather than a show horse. That quiet durability interests me far more than louder figures who burn brighter but briefer.
