My Take
Mark Hamill earned my lasting respect by doing something almost no star manages: building a second legend in the shadow of the first. Luke Skywalker would have been enough for any career, yet his Joker, beginning with Batman: The Animated Series, is arguably the definitive take on the character, achieved purely through voice. I find that reinvention deeply admirable; he traded leading-man vanity for craft, and voice acting rewarded him with decades of brilliant work. He carries the Star Wars mythology with humor and generosity toward fans, never bitterness. A Disney Legend and a Walk of Fame star, sure, but to me he is simply the patron saint of range.
