My Take
What I admire most about Mark Ruffalo is the gap between the franchise paycheck and the work that actually moves him. He plays the Hulk, but his soul lives in something like Spotlight, a quiet, dogged ensemble drama. That a kid from Kenosha, Wisconsin grinded through stage work to a New York Film Critics Circle Award and an Emmy tells you he respects the craft over the spectacle. I find that unglamorous sincerity genuinely rare, and it's why I keep watching him.
