My Take

I will always associate Marnette Patterson with Christy Jenkins in the final season of Charmed, a tricky role meant to unsettle a beloved cast. What I appreciate more, though, is her range across genres, from the horror of A Nightmare on Elm Street 5 to the science fiction of Starship Troopers 3. That is the mark of a working actor rather than a flash in the pan. She never seems to have chased prestige awards, and that is fine by me. I respect performers like her who keep landing roles and quietly stay employed in an unforgiving business.
