Marvis Frazier

Marvis Frazier fascinates me less for his ring record than for what he carried into it: the name of his father, Joe Frazier, one of boxing's true legends. Stepping into the heavyweight division and challenging for the title in 1983 meant fighting an opponent in the ropes and a shadow at his back. I find a quiet dignity in athletes who shoulder an iconic surname yet still throw their own punches. Whatever the scorecards said, the courage to keep standing under that weight earns my respect. He reads to me as a proud, understated fighter worth remembering.
