My Take
Masahiro Inui is the kind of baseball player who probably never cared much about the spotlight — and honestly, that's kind of refreshing. He went all the way to Toyo University to keep playing, which tells you this wasn't a guy coasting on raw talent — he put in the years. At 176 cm he's not the most physically imposing figure in the sport, but I get the sense he's more craftsman than showman. He pitched for Nippon-Ham and the Giants, kept going in the independent leagues until 2022, and is now coaching at his old university, which feels like someone who just kept his head down and played ball. I respect that quiet kind of dedication, even if it rarely makes headlines.
