My Take

What grabs me about Matt Braly is the arc from in-the-trenches storyboard artist on Gravity Falls and Big City Greens to creator of his own series, Amphibia. That jump from craftsman to showrunner is hard, and pulling it off says a lot about both his eye and his persistence. I also admire how he wove his own heritage into the show's world rather than treating it as decoration. To me he represents the best kind of animation career: someone who learned the grammar of the medium from the inside before building an entire universe of his own. I find that quietly inspiring.
