My Take

What I admire about MC Hammer isn't just the iconic baggy pants or the unstoppable groove of "U Can't Touch This" — it's the whole arc. He rose out of Oakland, conquered pop culture almost overnight, then crashed hard, and kept reinventing himself as a dancer, choreographer and entrepreneur. A lot of artists guard their image carefully; Hammer threw himself into everything, awards and ridicule alike. That fearless, slightly chaotic hustle feels more human to me than any polished superstar. Decades on, those dance moves still snap with energy, and I think his resilience is the real legacy worth remembering.
