Megumi Han

Megumi Han carries an enviable pedigree as the daughter of voice legend Keiko Han, but what earns my respect is how decisively she stepped out of that shadow. Winning the 2017 Seiyu Award for Best Supporting Actress is no inherited prize; it is proof of craft. A Tokyo native who sings as well as acts, she can bend a single voice across genders and ages, which is harder than casual fans realize. Bearing a famous name at the microphone could have been a burden, yet she turned it into fuel. I find that quiet self-assertion genuinely admirable.
