My Take
I have a theory that Meryl Streep ruined awards season for everyone else, and I mean that as the highest compliment. There's a stretch where her name on a ballot felt less like a nomination and more like a formality, and honestly she earned the inevitability. What I love is how unfussy she makes it look: the accents, the postures, the way she can be a steely magazine editor one year and a singing, sun-drenched mother the next without ever winking at you. The Yale training shows, but it never feels academic, it just feels lived-in. And she never seems to coast. Decades in, she's still chasing oddball roles like she has something to prove, which she absolutely doesn't. That restless curiosity is the part I find genuinely inspiring.
