My Take
Michael Che is the kind of comedian who makes you laugh and flinch in the same breath. A true New Yorker out of LaGuardia High School, he brings a deadpan nerve to Weekend Update that pairs perfectly with Colin Jost's polish. What I admire is his willingness to poke at the uncomfortable rather than play it safe, all while seeming utterly unbothered. Co-head writing SNL and hosting the Emmys proves the chops behind the slacker cool.
