Michael Dudikoff

Michael Dudikoff is pure 1980s action nostalgia to me, and I mean that affectionately. A Redondo Beach kid who worked his way through modeling into acting before becoming the face of the American Ninja films, he embodies the video-rental-era hero. He was never an A-list megastar, but there's a grounded, hardworking quality to him that I genuinely respect. His action work had a certain unpretentious charm. I have a soft spot for these earnest, reliable genre stars who delivered exactly what audiences wanted without ego, and Dudikoff is a perfect example of that disappearing breed.
