My Take
I have a soft spot for performers like Michael Hitchcock who thrive in the margins. An Ohio-born actor, comedian, screenwriter and producer, he's the sort of utility player who makes ensemble comedies sing. The dry timing, the precisely calibrated supporting turn, the willingness to serve the scene rather than steal it, that's a discipline I respect enormously. And because he writes as well as acts, he understands the architecture of a joke from the inside. Reunion is the kind of project where that double skill set pays off. Quiet, dependable, genuinely funny, he's a craftsman worth saluting.
