My Take
For my money, Michael Schur is the most quietly important comedy mind of his generation. From SNL to The Office to Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Good Place, he built a body of work defined by warmth rather than cruelty. What I admire most is his ambition: The Good Place dared to teach moral philosophy through prime-time sitcom jokes and somehow made it joyful. That Harvard-trained brain never punches down. When I see his name attached to a project, I trust it will be smart, kind, and worth my time. He proves comedy and decency can share the same stage.
