Michel Gill

Michel Gill is the kind of actor who anchors a scene without demanding the spotlight, and that's precisely why I rate him. As President Walker in House of Cards and Gideon Goddard in Mr. Robot, he projected an authority that felt earned rather than performed, helped no doubt by his Juilliard training. I gravitate toward character actors who supply a production's gravitational center, and Gill does it with understated craft. His is a face that grows more compelling with age, and I expect his best, most textured work is still arriving.
