Mike Brown is one of those coaches who doesn't get nearly enough credit for how consistently good he's been across a long career. He took the Cleveland Cavaliers deep into the NBA Finals in 2007, won NBA Coach of the Year in 2009, spent time as an assistant with the Golden State Warriors dynasty soaking up every detail of their system, then turned around and made the Sacramento Kings — the Sacramento Kings — one of the league's most exciting teams in 2022–23. He's not a flashy name dropper or a quote machine, he's just a serious X's and O's guy from Columbus, Ohio who keeps landing gigs because smart front offices know what they're getting: a disciplined, detail-obsessed coach who makes players better. I've always respected that quiet consistency.
