Mo Brooks

What strikes me about Mo Brooks is the conviction he carried into every fight. A Duke-educated lawyer from Charleston who served Alabama's 5th district for over a decade, he was never a man to soften his edges. As a founding member of the Freedom Caucus, he planted himself firmly on the hardline conservative wing and stayed there. I tend to set politics aside and admire sheer durability, and Brooks had it in spades. Whether you cheer or recoil, he was the kind of figure who made his presence felt. Polarizing, yes, but undeniably a true believer who refused to bend.
