Musetta Vander

Musetta Vander fascinates me for the distance she covered. Born Musetta van der Merwe in Durban, she crossed from South African stage work to Hollywood screens, playing Sindel in Mortal Kombat Annihilation and turning up in Wild Wild West, Star Trek: Voyager and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a leap that demands real nerve. There's something quietly heroic about staking everything on a dream half a world away, and I find myself rooting for her.
