Natasha Lyonne

Natasha Lyonne is one of those actors who makes you wonder why it took Hollywood this long to fully catch on. She's been around since the '90s — American Pie, But I'm a Cheerleader — doing this husky-voiced, heavy-lidded New York thing that nobody else can pull off, and then she came back from a genuinely rough stretch in her personal life to basically reinvent herself. Russian Doll was the proof of concept: she didn't just star in it, she co-created and co-wrote it, and the result was some of the most inventive television of the 2010s. That TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy in 2023 feels like the industry finally catching its breath and saying, yes, obviously, this woman is operating on a different level. She's a character actor who became the main character, and she earned every bit of it.
