My Take

Natasha Poly's story is the kind of underdog ascent I find irresistible. To rise from Perm, a cold industrial city in the Ural foothills, to the very front of the Paris runways is a genuinely dramatic arc, and Vogue Paris naming her among the top models of the 2000s confirms she helped define that era's aesthetic. People underrate modeling as mere looks, but I see it as performance, the ability to make a garment come alive in a single walk. Poly mastered that, and I have a soft spot for anyone who climbs that far from that far away.
