Nils Nielsen

Nils Nielsen is one of those coaches who quietly builds something special before the world suddenly notices. Born in Greenland and shaped by Danish football culture, he took the reins of the Denmark women's national team in 2013 and spent four years turning a talented but underachieving squad into genuine contenders. The peak was UEFA Women's Euro 2017 — Denmark went all the way to the final, and even in defeat it felt like a statement moment for Scandinavian women's football. The international coaching community clearly agreed: Nielsen finished runner-up for the FIFA Best Women's Coach award that year, which is no small thing. He's the low-profile, methodical type who lets results do the talking, and that 2017 run was a very loud statement indeed.
