Ning Zhongyan

Ning Zhongyan is a name I want to remember. Born in 1999 in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang, he won a medal at the 2020 World Single Distances Championships. Speed skating is a brutal, lonely sport measured in hundredths of a second, and carrying that pressure at his age says a lot. What stands out most is that he was chosen as one of China's flag bearers at the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony, an honor reserved for athletes a nation truly believes in. I have a quiet respect for anyone who races the clock that fearlessly, and I expect to hear his name on podiums.
