Otoya Yamaguchi

Otoya Yamaguchi was seventeen years old when, on 12 October 1960, he rushed a stage at Hibiya Public Hall and killed Inejiro Asanuma, chairman of the Japan Socialist Party, with a short sword during a televised election debate. He died on 2 November of that same year. There is no version of this story that is admirable, and I have no interest in writing one. What I do think is worth sitting with is the medium.
