Park Hee-soon

Park Hee-soon is the kind of seasoned character actor I trust on sight. A Seoul native born in 1970, he trained in theater at Seoul Institute of the Arts and spent over a decade with the Mokwha Repertory Company before turning to film in 2002. That stage grounding shows; his award-winning turn as a hard-edged cop in Seven Days carried a weight you cannot fake. I am consistently drawn to performers who built their craft in front of live audiences rather than chasing early stardom. Hee-soon brings a lived-in gravity to the screen that makes every scene he is in feel heavier and more real.
