My Take

Pat Barry is the sort of fighter I have a soft spot for: a New Orleans heavyweight who came up through kickboxing and Muay Thai before crossing into the UFC, and who built a reputation on low kicks rather than highlight knockouts alone. Choosing the unglamorous-but-devastating weapon says a lot about his fight IQ. At 180 cm he was undersized for the division, so survival meant technique over raw mass, and I respect that grind enormously. There's also a Louisiana State University background there, a reminder he's more than just muscle. To me he embodies the craftsman side of combat sports that fans quietly cherish.
