Reb Beach

Reb Beach's guitar work genuinely moves me. Born in Pittsburgh in 1963 and trained at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, he has spent decades anchoring hard-rock heavyweights like Winger and Whitesnake. What I admire most is not the flash of his fast playing but his gift for singing, song-serving phrases. He is a craftsman who makes the band sound enormous rather than showing off for its own sake. Still on stage in his sixties, he embodies what rock guitar is really about. There is a delicate musicality hiding inside all that volume, and I could listen to it forever.
